Tunisian raspberries to sweeten European palates
A €4 million investment in a large-scale raspberry plantation in the northern Bizerte region seeks to develop the export potential of Tunisia’s agribusiness sector.
The loan to SanLucar Flor’Alia will finance raspberry production mainly for export to Europe and the Middle East. The project will introduce new varieties of the fruit to Tunisia and employ modern agricultural methods, allowing the plantation to minimise its consumption of water, fertilisers and pesticides.
SanLucar Flor’Alia is a subsidiary of international fruit and vegetable company SanLucar, which is based in Valencia, Spain and has strong distribution networks in Austria and Germany.
