Doğuş Çay invests in iced tea and potato chips to drive growth
Turkish tea and snacks company Doğuş Çay will expand its production and storage facilities, seek to use resources more efficiently and improve its corporate governance with the help of a €50 million loan from the EBRD.
Doğuş Çay will build an iced tea production line and new warehouses for potato chips in anticipation of increased sales to domestic and export markets, including the Balkans, eastern Europe, the Middle East and North Africa. The company will also use the loan to refinance some of its existing short and medium-term debt.
As part of the venture, Doğuş Çay has committed to implementing corporate governance improvements and resource efficiency action plans. The firm is among the top three tea producers in Turkey and is one of the top three players in the potato chip and snacks market segment in Turkey.
